Question:

Will Amaryllis go in Utah? What summer bulbs are good for this area?

Answer:

Amaryllis grows well indoors in Utah. It is usually planted in pots in the fall and comes up in late winter.

Good summer bulbs for this area are gladiolas, dahlias (fancy and dinnerplate), elephant ears, caladiums, begonias, and many others. Most of them need to be dug in the fall and stored in a cool, dry place throughout the winter.
